MADAGASCAR BOURBON VANILLA BEANS

Madagascar bourbon vanilla beans are grown in Madagascar. They can be used in creme brulee, creme anglaise, custards, frozen yogurt, and ice cream. Generally, the seeds are all that is used. However, the pod is often added to sauces and strained out once steeped. Save the steeped pod, dry, and bury in sugar for vanilla flavored sugar. A small piece of the pod can be added to coffee beans before grinding to create a warm, vanilla flavor.
